What you need to know about the August 4th Election
Early Voting will begin Friday, July 15th and continue through Saturday, July 30th. Any registered voter may appear at any of the sites listed where voting is occurring during this time to cast their ballot for the August election. To view the calendar, please CLICK HERE.
If you need to vote absentee, please call our office or use our Absentee Ballot Request form that appears below in our Frequently asked voter questions area. The deadline to request and mail an absentee ballot is Thursday, July 28th.

Petition Pick Up for the November 8th Election
Petitions for the Sumner County Municipal Elections will be available at the Sumner County Election Office beginning Monday, June 20th located at 355 N Belvedere Dr., Rm 106 in Gallatin. Be advised, this is a county holiday and the county administration building will be closed for other business. You will need to call our office number for admittance at 615-452-1456.
The deadline to return petitions is Noon, Thursday August 18, 2022 to the Sumner County Election Commission.

Online voter registration - The Tennessee Secretary of State’s office is proud to offer online voter registration. The site provides voters with convenient access to register to vote or to update an existing voter registration. In order to vote in the August State and Federal Primary and County General you must have be registered by Tuesday, July 5th, 2022. To register or change your registration online CLICK HERE.

2022 Election Dates:
August 4, 2022: Federal and State Primary and Sumner County General Election
November 8, 2022: Federal and State General Election and Sumner County Municipal Elections
Important Voter Information
New districts for the Sumner County Commission and the School Board have been approved by the Sumner County Commission. Voters will choose representatives from those new districts in the May 3, 2022 Sumner County Primary and the August 4, 2022 County General Election. HOWEVER, until those elected candidates take office after the August 4, 2022 election, the current representatives remain in place.
The Sumner County Election Commission meets monthly, the second Tuesday of the month at 4:00 pm.
